Only technically true
Keith Ballard (Opinion, March 1) states that the Alliance for Oklahoma's Future doesn't advocate "bigger government." That's technically true, perhaps, in that neither Ballard nor the AOF comes right out and states, "We want more government!" When you read Ballard's writings and look at the AOF's Web site, however, you find phrases such as "proper funding of public services," "adequate investments ... in our public services" and "erroneous or exaggerated assertions that ... government is too large and inefficient." When coupled with Web site assertions that "Many key programs and services in Oklahoma are seriously underfunded" and "We must improve our education system, provide decent health care and social services, and upgrade our roads and bridges" and "The common good depends on government," it's clear that this group ain't advocating smaller government.
